DESCRIPTION: France, mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven pendule de Paris movement in a cast brass Renaissance Revival case with gilt accents, front feet in the form of foliate faces, lion masks on either side and on top urn finial, dial with white enamel cartouches and blued steel hands.
CONDITION: tarnish on polished brass surfaces of base which may just be the protective lacquer turning brown. Case retains much of the gilding on the sunk portion of dial, lions, and other ornaments. Enamel cartouches are in good condition Hands have a bit oxidation. Glass is absent from bezel. Rear of case was engraved with what looks like a Social Security Number. Typical French movement is stamped "B.R.".
